The government of Odisha, Department of School Education, has introduced the State Elementary Education Primary School Subject wide latest textbooks to all 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Class students designed by the Directorate Of Teacher Education & State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) to Government & Private school Odia medium, English medium, Urdu medium student to the academic year of 2025.

Every year, subject experts of the Odisha board design based on SCERT and NCERT syllabuses suggest the latest version of books to both primary school students in the state. The BSE Odisha has distributed the SCERT Odisha 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Class Textbook 2025 to all eligible students under the Free Textbook scheme by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

The Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA) has distributed Textbooks, Study and Learning Materials, Handbooks, Teacher Manuals, Flipbooks, and other learning materials under the Blocked Education officer of the zone. This year, it also distributed the SCERT and NCERT Syllabus books to all schools on the board.
