The UG results of the Common Universities Entrance Test 2024 (CUET) are expected to be released on the 30th of this month. This test was conducted for admission to undergraduate courses for the academic year 2024-25 in central universities and other educational institutions across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for the release of the results and will also release a provisional answer key soon. The exams for the CUET UG started on May 15 and were conducted in offline mode with pen and paper until the 24th of May. It is known that admissions are offered in the respective universities and colleges based on the score obtained in CUET UG.
CUET UG, which stands for Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate, is a common entrance test conducted for admission to degree courses in central universities of the country. Based on the scores obtained in this test, students can apply to all central universities of the country and participate in the admission process. Many people are attending NTA-CUET, as it is a common entrance exam for all central universities.
The CUET-UG score for UG courses in Central Universities of the country is eligible for application. Candidates who have cleared CUET-UG will have to apply separately to Central Universities based on that score. After examining the applications of the candidates, the Central Universities finalize the admissions based on available seats and CUET score.
The exam provides the possibility to appear in regional languages. This exam will be conducted in a total of thirteen languages: Telugu, English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu.
Students who wish to appear for CUET-UG should ensure that they have secured at least 50 per cent marks in Intermediate. Although the NTA notification states that to pass the intermediate equivalent course of CUET-UG, central universities require 50 per cent marks in the intermediate equivalent course during the third stage of the admission process and application. Therefore, candidates should clarify the eligibility rules of the respective universities in advance.
The CUET-UG score provides admissions to Central Universities as well as many leading institutes. Last year, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TIS), NIIT University, BML Munjal University, and more than 50 other deemed and private universities provided admission based on CUET-UG score.
This number is likely to increase further this year. Similarly, some state universities in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan also provide admissions with CUET-UG scores. Overall, a total of 250 institutes, including central universities, offer admission to bachelor’s programs based on this score.
