The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) counselling and mock seat allotment for students who took the exam have been a lingering concern. Despite the UG CET Karnataka results being out for months, the counselling process and mock seat allotment have not yet commenced, leaving numerous students in distress.
Initially, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) intended to begin KCET counselling after the NEET results. However, due to allegations of irregularities in the NEET exam, a re-examination is scheduled for 1563 candidates. As a result, the commencement date for both NEET and CET counselling has been announced.
It is anticipated that the CET counselling will start in the second week of July, with NEET counselling possibly commencing on July 6. The NEET re-examination is currently underway, and the results are expected to be released on June 30.
First, NEET counselling will be conducted, followed by CET counselling, which is set to begin in the second week of July. The counselling process is expected to be expedited once the preparations, including the KEA mock seat allotment, are finalized.
According to KEA Executive Director H Prasanna, the CET counselling will commence within 3-4 days of NEET counselling.
