GATE 2025 Exam Pattern and Syllabus: Learn Something


The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2025) examination will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Before sending out GATE 2025 registration notifications, the institute has released the exam pattern and syllabus. Additionally, IIT has launched a new official website for GATE 2025 (Gate2025.Iitr.ac.in) to provide candidates with all the necessary information for the examination.

The GATE exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode, and candidates will be given 3 hours to complete the exam. There will be a total of 30 test papers, including full papers and section-wise papers. The sections will include General Aptitude (GA) and the candidate’s chosen subjects, which will feature Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

A total of 65 questions will be asked in GATE 2025, and candidates will have the option to choose one or a maximum of two test papers. The exam will be in English, and it will have a total of 100 marks, with 15 marks allocated for General Aptitude (GA) and 85 marks for the subject-specific questions.

Negative marking will be applicable for incorrect answers in the exam. MCQs will have specific marking schemes, with different marks awarded for correct and incorrect answers. However, no negative marking will be applied to MSQ or NAT questions.
